Flagler County deputies investigate possible attempted child abduction in Palm Coast

Residents asked to check security footage

PALM COAST, Fla. – The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a possible attempted child abduction after a juvenile female reported being approached while roller skating in her Palm Coast neighborhood on Sunday.

Deputies have canvassed homes on Fort Caroline Lane and asked some residents to provide security camera footage as part of the inquiry.

Neighbor Joe Ciacciarelli, who has lived on the street for six years, said he was surprised when deputies came to his house and requested video from his surveillance system.

“They knocked on the door and they wanted to look at the camera footage and they did and that was it,” Ciacciarelli said.

Chief Deputy Joe Barile said investigators are still gathering details and could not release the police report because the case remains active.

“We received a call to a house that a juvenile female had said she was approached by an individual who had tried to get her in the car and at some point she tried to fight him off and he left,” Barile said.
