However, “swatting” calls are not harmless fun, they are illegal, dangerous, and carry serious consequences that can divert responses to real emergencies,” Sheriff Rick Staly said. Flagler County COVID-19 vaccine event offers shots for people with diabetes
FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. – Any adult with type 1 or 2 diabetes can sign up for the coronavirus vaccine during a special event in Palm Coast happening April 8. The Flagler County Department of Health and AdventHealth Palm Coast are hosting the vaccine event from 9 a.m. to noon. Dr. Stephen Bickel, medical director for DOH-Flagler, said people with diabetes are more vulnerable to COVID-19, according to early studies of the virus. Those interested in receiving the Moderna vaccine must preregister with DOH-Flagler’s Diabetes Education Center by calling 386-313-7263 or 386-313-7264. On the day of the vaccinations, people should head to 60 Memorial Parkway in Palm Coast and enter the hospital near the outpatient entrance and follow signage to Classroom D.
Self-driving Tesla crashes into Florida deputy’s cruiser; underage teen cited
PALM COAST, Fla. – Two teens, ages 14 and 15, involved in a wrong-way crash with a Flagler County sheriff’s cruiser claimed the Tesla they were riding in was on autopilot when the crash occurred, officials said. The car came to a stop but then backed into the deputy’s patrol vehicle, sheriff’s officials said. When asked who was driving, they both said the Tesla was driving itself in autopilot when it backed in to the patrol car, according to sheriff’s officials. Video shows homicide suspect’s arrest after traffic stop turns violent, Flagler deputies say
As Moore was being patted down, deputies said he repeatedly ignored commands to keep his hands out of his pockets. When deputies tried to place him in handcuffs, Moore tried to get pull away and run, records show. Two deputies managed to hold him on the ground but could not cuff him, according to the incident report. The man claimed he was not trying to run or resist, but rather give the gun — which he said was his uncle’s — to the deputies, records show. Deputies said they then discovered Moore had a warrant for his arrest out of Fulton County Georgia on a homicide charge.
Palm Coast mother protects her son after stranger attempts to abduct him
FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. – A Palm Coast woman said a stranger entered her house and attempted to abduct her 3-year-old boy, according to the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office. AdKatherine Sanchez said a woman tried to abduct her son on Wednesday. (WKMG)Investigators said Sanchez escorted the woman out of the house while the woman kept pulling Gabriel to take him away. “When I [went] to the living room and she saw my little son she said ‘OMG this is my baby,’” Sanchez said. Investigators said they were able to find 26-year-old Zarut Jean Pierre-Theolin walking on Woodhaven Drive.
