PALM COAST, Fla. – A New York City man was killed in a wreck early Friday that prompted the closure of a portion of Interstate 95 in Flagler County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash happened around 3 a.m. south of Palm Coast Parkway on northbound I-95, near Palm Coast, troopers said.
According to an FHP crash report, a 20-year-old New York City man who was standing on the outside shoulder and facing west walked into the northbound lanes of I-95 for an unknown reason and was struck by two SUVs. The man was pronounced dead at the scene by Flagler County Fire Rescue, the report states.
No other injuries were reported, troopers said.
Two northbound lanes of I-95 were blocked in the area after the crash, causing delays.
