ORLANDO, Fla. – Orange County deputies arrested twin brothers following a shooting that left one person dead and a violent altercation that left another man injured, the sheriff’s office said.

Around 11:30 p.m. on Nov. 14, deputies responded to an apartment complex on Redmond Street, just east of Orange Blossom Trail. Upon arrival, deputies found Vincent Sinclair injured in the courtyard. He was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead, an arrest affidavit states.

Witnesses and security personnel reported hearing gunfire and seeing three males fleeing the scene. A white SUV carrying two males and a female was stopped nearby. The males were identified as Markeis Stubbs and a witness, while the female was cleared of involvement.

Investigations revealed that the shooting occurred after an argument involving Sinclair, Markeis, and Mauryce Stubbs, and others about a break-in and property damage at an apartment. Mauryce Stubbs was identified by multiple witnesses as the shooter who fired one shot that struck Sinclair in the neck, the affidavit states.

Markeis Stubbs was identified as the individual who engaged in a physical altercation with another victim, striking him in the face with a firearm and causing injury. The victim suffered swelling and lost dental jewelry as a result of the assault, deputies said.

Both brothers were positively identified in photo lineups by witnesses and the injured victim. Markeis Stubbs cooperated with deputies by flagging down law enforcement after the shooting and guiding them to the scene.

Mauryce Stubbs faces a charge of second-degree murder with a firearm, while Markeis Stubbs was charged with aggravated battery.
