ORLANDO, Fla. – A house fire Saturday near downtown Orlando killed a dog and left a person displaced, according to the fire department.

Firefighters responded before 6 p.m. to the 800 block of Emerald Lane, reporting heavy smoke from a fully-involved fire upon their arrival, the Orlando Fire Department said in a statement.

Photos shared to social media show the burning home and firefighters’ efforts to put it out, which the department says was done quickly.

There were no further reports of injuries at the time of this writing.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, according to the post.
