COCOA BEACH, Fla. – A Titusville man was arrested Thursday after he offered $200 to a 15-year-old in exchange for a sex act, according to the Cocoa Beach Police Department.

Police responded around 1:40 p.m. to the area of N. Atlantic Avenue and Cocoa Isles Boulevard in Cocoa Beach, where they learned 68-year-old David Roth had approached the teen and offered money in exchange for “performing a sexual act in front of him,” the department said.

According to police, Roth asked the victim to go to Maritime Hammock park, but the teen refused. Police said someone noticed the teen appeared uncomfortable and stopped to help when Roth got into a tan-colored Buick and drove off.

Investigators located Roth and his vehicle in Titusville. With the help of Titusville police, Cocoa Beach police were able to take him into custody before 4 p.m.

Roth faces charges of lewd or lascivious conduct. He is being held on no bond at the Brevard County jail.

An investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Morris of the Cocoa Beach Police Department at 321-868-3264.
