ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – An 18-year-old man is accused of shooting a 17-year-old boy on New Year’s Day after the victim refused to get into his car, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to the area of the 6800 block of Westlake Boulevard after being notified of the teen who was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound.

According to an affidavit for arrest warrant, the teen is a childhood friend of the suspect, Patrick Bouvier Williams III.

Deputies said Williams visited the victim in Orlando from Tallahassee and had arrived in a vehicle with several other people that the teen did not recognize.

The victim walked up to the car and Williams asked him to get into the vehicle, the affidavit said. The teen ran away yelling the group was attempting to rob him and Williams fired 17 times toward the 17-year-old and another person, striking the teen in the leg, according to the affidavit.

Williams faces a charge of attempted second-degree murder with a firearm.
