According to an arrest affidavit, police were alerted after a store manager observed the suspect’s phone flash on surveillance video when the suspect was taking photos up a shopper’s skirt without her knowledge.
Upon arrival, police detained Jose Guillermo Godoy, and the victim confirmed to police she did not permit any photos to be taken.
Godoy initially gave false names and dates of birth when questioned, but was later identified through investigation. He admitted to possibly taking pictures of the victim’s leg and attempting to record a short video up the victim’s skirt, acknowledging he “messed up,” an arrest report states.
Godoy was charged with video voyeurism by a person 19 or older and providing false identification to law enforcement. His phone was confiscated as evidence. He was transported to the Orange County Jail.
