Man, woman caught hiding in bushes after $8,700 chain theft, Orlando police say

K-9 unit helps find suspects after chase

ORLANDO, Fla. – A man and a woman were arrested after Orlando police say they stole a gold chain worth $8,700 before leading officers on a chase.

Around 8:30 p.m. on Dec. 22, officers responded to a reported robbery at 3674 East Colonial Drive. Police said a male suspect grabbed the gold chain, fled the store, and got into a white truck before driving away.

About 10 minutes later, police said they spotted a truck matching the description near Crystal Lake Drive and Kilgore Street. When officers tried to stop the vehicle, the driver fled, police said.

Officers tracked the suspects to an area near 400 Chapel Trace Drive. Despite limited visibility and difficult terrain, an officer and a K-9 found both suspects hiding separately in bushes, police said.

James Bryan Hardy, 47, was arrested and charged with fleeing or attempting to elude a law enforcement officer and resisting an officer without violence.

Rachel Lynn Brazee, 27, was also arrested and faces a charge of resisting an officer without violence.
