‘Good little deer:’ Deputies guide slippery‑footed animal out of Orange County home after surprise entry

Animal safely released into nearby woods

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – Deputies were called to an Orange County home after a deer crashed through a living room window before ending up in the kitchen, struggling to gain footing on the home’s tile floor.

“Well, he jumped through the double-paned glass over here and he’s bleeding a little bit,” deputies could be heard saying on their bodycam video.

While the animal struggled to stand on the tile floor, deputies stepped in to help calm it.

On one deputy’s bodycam video, they can be seen straddling the deer while scratching the animal’s head, saying, “You’re good. There you go. Easy, easy. You’re fine. Good little deer.”

Another deputy can be heard jokingly saying, “You’re just gonna sit here and pet it?”

Officials said the deputies guided the deer through the house and into the backyard, where it was safely directed back into the woods through a gate in the home’s yard.

After the deer nervously scoots through the gate, a deputy can be heard saying “bye!”

Officials did not say where or what day the incident happened, but no injuries were reported.
