MAITLAND, Fla. – A precautionary boil water notice in Maitland was lifted Wednesday after tests determined water was safe to consume.
A mechanical failure at a Maitland water plant caused potable water pressure to briefly fall below minimum safety standards Sunday, prompting officials to issue a precautionary boil‑water notice for all municipal utility customers.
City officials said water pressure was reduced for a short period before the affected plant returned to normal operation. Two additional water plants supplemented service to meet demand.
The advisory did not apply to Maitland residents who receive service from Casselberry, Winter Park or Orange County utilities.
