‘Inbred s***hole:’ Winter Park football coach investigated for profanity-laced message

Kit Hill clarifies intentions in apology

WINTER PARK, Fla. – High school football rivalries can bring out intense emotions — but rarely do coaches put those feelings in writing.

A Winter Park High School football coach is facing discipline after sending a profanity-laced group text about rival Timber Creek High School to his players, according to an Orange County Public Schools professional standards report obtained exclusively by News 6.

The Winter Park Wildcats finished last season 6–5. Ahead of their Oct. 24 matchup with Timber Creek, offensive coordinator Kit Hill sent a message to a group chat that included the team’s entire offensive line, known as the “2025 Hogs.”

The text began with strategy aimed at Timber Creek’s defense, but quickly shifted to a profane rant about the opposing school and its community.

In the message, Hill wrote in part:

“Side note — I hate going to their ___ hole field, I hate walking through their ____ hole stands and by their ___ hole students, parents and fans… I hate they make us ride out there to beat their ___. They should come to us every year so we don’t have to go all the way out to that inbred ___ hole dump of a place!”

One Winter Park player forwarded the message to Timber Creek students, who then sent it to News 6’s Matt Austin.

After months of requests, Orange County Public Schools released a professional standards investigation report, which found “sufficient evidence to support the allegations.”

In the report, Hill issued an apology, writing:

“At no point did I intend any disrespect or harm toward Timber Creek High School, its students, faculty, administration, or parents. My comments were meant to encourage our team and maintain the spirit of the rivalry, not to cause negative attention or reflect poorly on Winter Park High School or our football program. I deeply regret that my actions have resulted in unintended consequences.”

The district closed the case and issued Hill verbal coaching related to the incident.

Hill remains listed as faculty at Winter Park High School. However, the school’s website no longer identifies him as the team’s offensive coordinator. He may still hold the same role.

Orange County Public Schools said it does not comment on personnel matters. Hill did not respond to requests for comment.
