VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. – A Volusia sheriff’s sergeant was arrested last week on a DUI charge in Colorado, according to officials.

According the sheriff’s office, an internal affairs investigation is open until the criminal case is concluded.
Edgecomb’s on-duty privileges were revoked and he was relieved of law enforcement duties.
“While a member of law enforcement is entitled to the same due process rights as anyone else, we are sharing this arrest because we recognize law enforcement officers must be held to a higher standard than the general public‚” the sheriff’s office said.
He was hired in 2006.
