APOPKA, Fal. – A family member is searching for answers after her father and aunt were found dead Friday night inside an Apopka general store.
Ezaria Swift said her family is struggling to cope with the loss of her father, Ezra, and aunt, Schenita, who worked in Griffin’s General Store, where their bodies were found.

“They were kind people, and they were loved people who did what they could to add their part to the community,” Ezaria Swift said. “It’s a lot. We’re trying, but two deaths at once is kind of shocking.”
According to Apopka police, the discovery was made shortly before 9 p.m. Friday, but it was unclear whether the incident involved a homicide or a possible murder-suicide.
“That actually took me back a bit, the murder-suicide thing,” Swift said. “I didn’t know for them to be struggling with anything.”
While there haven’t been any arrests, police stressed there was no ongoing threat to the public.

However, the police department announced that there will be an “increased presence in the area” as a precaution.
Swift said her father and aunt didn’t have problems with anyone in the community and, as the investigation is ongoing, she hopes someone comes forward with answers.
“If anyone does know anything, I’d really love for them to speak out,” Swift said. “I know something like this is hard for the whole community.”
