Winter Park police ID man killed in shooting on Railroad Avenue

Victim identified as 18-year-old J’Vion Raishon Giorgio May-Taylor

WINTER PARK, Fla. – A man was shot and killed early Tuesday in Winter Park, according to police.

The fatal shooting happened around 2 a.m. on Railroad Avenue off North Pennsylvania Avenue, west of North Park Avenue.

Police said officers were called to the area after gunshots were heard and found a man on the ground suffering from a gunshot wound.

The man – later identified as 18-year-old J’Vion Raishon Giorgio May-Taylor – was taken to a hospital, where he died, police said.

Police, in a later update, said that “a person involved in the shooting has come forward.”

A neighbor told News 6 that she heard two or three gunshots outside and then saw what appeared to be a body of a young man.

Pennsylvania Avenue was blocked from Webster Avenue to Dunbar Street, but the roadway was later reopened.
