16-year-old killed in Flagler County train incident, sheriff’s office says

CR-304 was temporarily shut down

FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. – A 16-year-old boy was struck by a freight train and killed Saturday in Flagler County, according to the sheriff’s office.

County Road 304 in Flagler County was down between U.S. Highway 1 and Old Haw Creek Road that evening while officials conducted the death investigation, the sheriff’s office said in a news release.

Officials said on Sunday that the roadway has reopened.

The boy was identified as a teen who had been reported missing on Friday, the release states.

News 6 is not presently naming the boy.

There is no threat to the community, deputies said.
