Rollins College honors Mister Rogers. Check out the new tribute

WINTER PARK, Fla. – Rollins College on Monday is launching something new to honor its most famous alumni: Mister Rogers.

Fred Rogers, a 1951 Rollins College graduate, majored in music composition while at the Winter Park private college. He also met his wife, Sara Joanne Byrd, while at Rollins.

A special self-guided walking tour will be available through March 31, starting at the Olin Library.

A few items on display include his sweater and sneakers, a collection of books, his yearbook and photos.

The tribute celebrates what would have been Rogers’ 98th birthday.

Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood debuted on Feb. 19, 1968. Rogers died in 2003, at the age of 74.
