Ocoee nurse accused of sexually violating amputee patient

Abedinecho Katue, 46, faces charge of sexual battery

ORLANDO, Fla. – An Ocoee nurse was arrested this week after he was accused of violating a patient last year, according to the Orlando Police Department.

In an arrest affidavit, police said they initially responded to an AdventHealth along East Rollins Street in January 2025 after the victim reported she’d been sexually battered.

The victim — a patient whose right leg had been amputated and whose left foot was in a cast — told police that her nurse was the one responsible, the affidavit shows.

According to the victim, the nurse — identified as Abedinecho Katue, 46 —had come into her room several times during the night into the early morning hours, telling her how attractive she was and that he wanted to take special care of her.

Eventually, Katue penetrated her with a finger under the pretense of checking on her genitals, which had nothing to do with the operation she’d undergone, the victim alleged.

“I reviewed the audio recordings. However, some were very low volume, and it was difficult to make out everything clearly,” an officer wrote. “In one of the recordings, Katue can be heard saying, ‘I can’t remember the last time I took care of such a young, black, beautiful girl like you.’”

A lengthy investigation ensued, and on Wednesday, Katue was arrested, jail records show.

He now faces charges of sexual battery on a physically incapacitated person, as well as lewd/lascivious battery on a disabled person. He is held on no bond.
