Central Florida dad chases suspect who flashed 7-year-old at beach, police say

COCOA BEACH, Fla. – A suspect in a child-flashing case out of Cocoa Beach on Monday has now been taken into custody, according to the police department.

In a release, police said the incident was reported shortly before 11:30 a.m. near 1600 N. Atlantic Ave.

“An older male had allegedly exposed himself to a 7-year-old on the beach,” police wrote. “According to investigators, the suspect fled the area after the incident, running westbound across North Atlantic Avenue while being pursued by the child’s father and a bystander.”

Investigators said they quickly canvassed the area and found a man who matched the suspect’s description walking on the sidewalk along Jamaica Drive.

While he initially provided officers with a fake name, police announced they were able to ID him as 69-year-old Ray Torralbes of Pennsylvania.

Torralbes now faces charges of lewd and lascivious exhibition to a victim under 16 years of age, as well as providing false identification to law enforcement. He is held on a bond of more than $300,000.
