Wildwood police sergeant dies after vacation accident, department says

WILDWOOD, Fla. – The Wildwood Police Department is mourning the death of one of its own.

According to a social media post, Sgt. Richard “RC” Parrish died due to “a tragic accident while vacationing.”

“Sergeant Parrish was a well-respected, valued, and loved member of this agency. His work ethic, dedication, and desire to serve the members of our community was unrivaled, and his untimely death is a tremendous loss for us all.”

The department did not include further details in its post about where or when the accident occurred.
