Daytona Beach police search for suspects in 4 separate weekend shootings

Police believe there’s no threat to the community

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Police in Daytona Beach are searching for suspects after four different shootings on Saturday.

The Daytona Beach Police Department says they do not believe the community is under threat, but they are looking for help with the investigations.

The first shooting happened just after 12:30 a.m. at The Joint on Seabreeze Boulevard, where police say a male became aggressive, leading several females to deploy mace. The suspect subsequently fired a gun, which caused panic and caused people to flee the building. No one was hit by gunfire, though some people were hurt during the mass exit.

The second incident happened at around 12:40 a.m. in a parking lot along North Nova Road. Police say they were told someone had been shot and found the victim nearby. That person was taken to an area hospital for treatment. The suspect has not been identified yet.

The third incident happened Saturday, just before 11 a.m. in the area of Kingston Avenue and Flinders Avenue. Police say they found a victim with two gunshot wounds. Based on early information, police believe the shooting happened during an argument. The victim was taken to an area hospital for treatment. The search for the suspect is ongoing.

The fourth incident happened at around 11:16 p.m. at the Cruisin Cafe on South Atlantic Avenue, where a large fight broke out between several people. During the fight, police say someone started shooting a gun. One victim was struck and taken to an area hospital for treatment. The search for the suspect is ongoing.
