ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – In honor of Women’s History Month this March, News 6 met a young lady who’s already making history in her community with plans to break even more barriers in the future.
Princesska Benjamin was recently named 2026 Youth of the Year for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Florida. She received the prestigious award during a half-time presentation at the Kia center during a recent Orlando Magic game on February 26.

The award is the Boys and Girls Clubs’ highest honor recognizing leadership, academic excellence and service.
Princesska is a senior at Cypress Creek High School where she has a 3.86 GPA and serves as captain of both her flag football and weightlifting teams. She also mentors younger students as part of the Boys and Girls Clubs’ Keystone program.
Princesska credits other female staff members at the club for guiding her path.
“They’ve instilled values like confidence and initiative,” said Princesska. “Becoming the Keystone president here at the Taft branch, I wouldn’t have done that if they didn’t put faith in me and inspired me to be like, ‘oh, yeah, you can do this. I believe in you.’”
Princesska plans to attend Valencia College before transferring to UCF, where she hopes to become an athletic trainer.
