Police scour Central Florida killer’s home for evidence in 2012 case

PORT ORANGE, Fla. – Port Orange police scoured a property on Thursday in search of evidence related to a case from over 10 years ago, the department confirmed to News 6.

In a release, police told News 6 that they’re looking for clues at 180 Brandy Hills Drive.

“Information and new circumstance have enabled investigators to obtain a search warrant for the location in an attempt to recover evidence in connection with a 2012 investigation,” the release reads. “The execution of the search warrant is ongoing, and updated information will be provided as available.”

Court records show that the home was listed as the address for James Lee Maxwell, 57, who was sentenced to life in prison back in 2015 for two counts of first-degree murder.

However, no additional information has been provided at this time, including whether there are any connections between Maxwell’s case and the current investigation.
