ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – The man accused of attacking a good Samaritan on a Central Florida expressway last week has pleaded not guilty to criminal charges, court records show.

Daniel Coman, 44, was arrested March 30 after he allegedly battered a motorist who thought Coman had been in a car crash and stopped to help him.

Hans Hamilton suffered a brain bleed and four broken ribs during the attack, he told News 6.

Video of the violent altercation, which was first published by News 6, was recorded by cameras on the victim’s Tesla.

Coman is also accused of assaulting and battering an Orange County deputy sheriff while resisting arrest, authorities allege.

Court records show Coman, who is represented by a public defender, entered a written plea of “not guilty” Wednesday.

Coman remained incarcerated at the Orange County jail Wednesday, where he was being held on a $5,000 bond.

According to an eviction complaint filed in Orange County Circuit Court, Coman was expelled from his Orlando home days before the attack.

“Although you have been temporarily staying elsewhere since approximately March 23, 2026, please be advised that you no longer have permission to reside in this home,” a March 27 email message attached to the eviction stated. “As the legal homeowner, I am formally requiring that you vacate the premises permanently and remove any personal belongings.”

“What! Oh my. OK, I guess, you are the boss of your domain,” Coman allegedly replied to the message.

News 6 attempted to contact the homeowner who filed the eviction complaint, but a woman who answered the phone claimed News 6 had the wrong number and hung up.
