Body found floating in Indian River, Titusville police say

TITUSVILLE, Fla. – A death investigation has kicked off in Titusville after a body was found floating in the Indian River, according to the police department.

In a release, police said the responded to the scene near the 300 block of Indian River Avenue, where the body was reported shortly before noon.

At the time, they discovered a man’s body around 5 feet off shore.

“This is an active and ongoing investigation, and our detectives are working diligently to determine the circumstances surrounding this incident,” Deputy Chief Wright announced. “We are coordinating closely with the Medical Examiner’s Office to identify the individual and establish a cause of death.”
