‘Bulls***:’ Florida man caught beating up chihuahua, sheriff says

Kyle Warren Nesbitt, 41, faces charge of animal cruelty

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. – A Melbourne man was put behind bars this week after he was accused of beating up a chihuahua, according to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office.

In a video posted to Facebook, Sheriff Wayne Ivey said that the man — identified as Kyle Nesbitt, 41 — struck the chihuahua (nicknamed “Bear”) because he was mad over it peeing in bed.

According to the sheriff, Nesbitt’s ex-girlfriend initially called the BCSO back in January, claiming that Nesbitt had attacked her dog.

Afterward, he left it on the back porch, suffering a swollen eye and a knocked-out tooth, Ivey explained.

“(Nestbitt’s) story when we went to go interview was he was carrying the dog and tripped and fell on it,” Ivey added. “Well, bulls***, no you didn’t.”

Nesbitt was ultimately arrested on Friday and now faces a charge of animal cruelty. He is held on bond of $15,000.

Meanwhile, Ivey stated that Bear survived and was treated by the BCSO veterinarian team.
