Brevard County sheriff’s agents said they arrested a Cocoa Beach Jr/Sr High School math teacher after an investigation into allegations she had sex with a student.

According to a Facebook post made by the agency, Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit arrested 37-year-old Kirsten Rose on a warrant Friday afternoon.

She faces a charge of lewd and indecent exposure offenses against a student by an authority figure and five counts of unlawful sexual activity with a minor officials said.

Agents say the case started in March, after the parents of a male student grew suspicious of an inappropriate relationship when their son came home late from work one evening.

Investigators said the parents checked their son’s location and saw he was at a residence they did not recognize. When questioned, the student told them he was at his girlfriend’s house but would not say who she was.

After continued questioning, the student told his parents he was in a relationship with his teacher, according to investigators.

That’s when sheriff’s agents opened a Special Victims Unit investigation. Deputies said it showed the student and teacher began communicating outside of school on Instagram in November 2025. The conversations continued through February 2026, investigators said, and the relationship became sexual on multiple occasions in February and March.

In a statement, Brevard Public Schools confirmed Rose’s arrest and said the district placed her on administrative leave.

“We are cooperating fully with law enforcement,” the district said. “The District remains committed to providing a safe and supportive learning environment for all students.”

Rose was arrested and booked into the Brevard County Jail and is being held without bond, the sheriff’s office said. The investigation remains ongoing.
