OCALA, Fla. – An Ocala high school was forced to lock down on Friday afternoon after a bomb threat was reported, though no bomb was ultimately found, according to the police department.
In a release, police said that the anonymous threat was made to Westport High School, prompting the code red lockdown.
Shortly after 3 p.m., police said they were on the scene to conduct a search.

By around 3:30 p.m., the school announced that buses were en route to pick up students, with a controlled dismissal in place due to the increased law enforcement presence nearby.
“At this time, there are no findings indicating a threat to the campus,” school officials wrote. “The heightened law enforcement presence is related to a nearby Presidential visit and the landing of Air Force One at Ocala International Airport.”
Police added that the origin of the threat is still under investigation.
No additional information has been provided at this time.
