Temporary ground stop, departure delays reported at Orlando International Airport amid thunderstorms

ORLANDO, Fla – A ground stop was issued for Orlando International Airport (MCO) Saturday from 11:40 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. EDT because of thunderstorms, grounding departures bound for Orlando.

According to the advisory reported departure delays at MCO are averaging about 30 minutes and increasing due to weather-related traffic management intiatives.
