GROVELAND, Fla. – A Groveland police officer was arrested on Friday after an alleged “road rage incident” with her ex-boyfriend, according to court records obtained by News 6.
In an arrest affidavit, a Leesburg officer said he responded to a Walmart parking lot at 2501 Citrus Boulevard late Thursday night following a “traffic complaint.”
Upon arrival, they met with a victim, who claimed that his ex-girlfriend — later identified as Mya Rosealin Salas, 24 — had struck his vehicle with her own several times while following him, the affidavit says.
“The victim advised he was stopping in the Walmart parking lot to wait for officers’ arrival,” the affidavit reads.
Meanwhile, the officer spoke with Salas, who said she was six months pregnant and “had just caught her boyfriend at another residence other than where he had originally told her he would be,” the officer wrote.
According to the affidavit, Salas had found her boyfriend at another female’s home, which sparked a verbal argument. The victim claimed he tried to drive away to head to work, but Salas followed after, leading to a series of collisions as she repeatedly rammed his vehicle, police said.
“The victim advised (Salas) worked for the Groveland Police Department, and once she became an officer, her demeanor changed and she thought ‘she was above the law,’” the affidavit continues.
As a result of the incident, Salas was taken into custody and now faces charges of aggravated domestic battery and aggravated domestic stalking.
