SANFORD, Fla – An Atlanta man is facing arson and burglary charges after a fire broke out at a Sanford Buddhist temple late Saturday night and a suspect fled through two counties before being arrested, authorities said.
According to Sanford police, officers responded to a fire at Wat Navaram Buddhist Temple at approximately Saturday night. Officials observed a person at the scene and attempted to make contact, but the suspect fled.

Officers pursued the suspect into Volusia County. Sanford police say The Florida Highway Patrol later apprehended the suspect, identified as Singhasouk Danny Phanouvong, 51, of Atlanta, in Flagler County.
Phanouvong was booked into the Volusia County Corrections facility on Sunday, according to booking records.
He faces multiple charges, including first-degree arson of a dwelling or structure, two counts of burglary of an occupied dwelling, two counts of fleeing or attempting to elude law enforcement, and resisting arrest with violence.
