Homeowner in Orange County says two different men showed up at her door in separate incidents

She says the early-morning visit and a return trip days later left her feeling unsafe and prompted her to look into security cameras and self-defense training

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A homeowner in the Monterey and Azalea Park area says she has had two unsettling encounters with strangers showing up at her home, leaving her uncomfortable and concerned about safety in her neighborhood.

The first incident happened Saturday, June 20, when the homeowner says a man came to her door early in the morning.

“I check and see who’s at the door it’s nobody I recognize. I’m not expecting company and it’s 6:30 in the morning,” she said.

She says she saw the man leave and went about her day, but he returned later.

“He comes back again this time he rings the doorbell a little more aggressively. First time was like ding dong. This time, it was like dinging ding ding ding,” she said.

The homeowner says the situation escalated when she heard the man move toward another entry point.

“So I heard him then come to this door and this was closed off like this and he was peeking in the window. He was here standing on the steps,” she said.

She decided to confront him from inside her home.

“And I just said hey can I help you, and he says, I’m supposed to meet someone here, and I said, no you’re not,” she said.

The homeowner says the man left and she called Orlando police. She says she noticed patrol cars in the area for about 15 minutes after officers arrived.

Then, she says, it happened again.

Fast forward to this past Saturday, the homeowner says a second man showed up at her home. She says it was around 3:30 p.m. when she caught up to him as he was walking away.

“I’m mad at this point,” she said.

The homeowner says the second man also claimed he was supposed to meet someone at that address.

“And he said he’s supposed to meet somebody here and again I was swearing and he said you don’t need to get rude I have text messages and I said I don’t give a shhh and get outta here you’re not welcome and don’t come back,” she said.

She says police returned a second time to take down her report. In both cases, she says she focused on staying safe and did not ask the men additional questions.

Now, the homeowner says she is working to get security cameras and is strongly considering taking a women’s self-defense class.
