Carnival Mardi Gras rescues 9 off Florida Coast

SEBASTIAN INLET, Fla. – Carnival Cruise Line’s Mardi Gras cruise ship rescued nine people from a vessel in distress off Florida’s coast.

It happened Saturday off the coast of Sebastian Inlet.

The ship’s crew spotted the vessel displaying a distress flag, notified the U.S. Coast Guard, and safely brought all nine adults aboard,“ according to a statement from a Carnival Cruise Line spokesperson.

The nine people remained in the ship’s care until arrival in Nassau, Bahamas, on Sunday afternoon.
