ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A Massachusetts woman was taken into custody after she got into a spat with an employee at a Disney restaurant last month, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.

In an arrest affidavit, deputies said they were called to Steakhouse 71 at Disney’s Contemporary Resort around 9:30 p.m. back on May 19.

At the time, they learned that the woman — identified as Leslie Helen Varley, 57 — had shown up at the restaurant and approached an employee over an “issue due to her party’s size,” deputies wrote.

In addition, a witness reportedly said that Varley had gotten upset because an employee made a statement about her disabled daughter touching one of the cast members.

“Leslie became irate and threw three cups of water at (the employee),” the affidavit reads. “All three cups made contact with the front of (his) body. Leslie then stood up and approached (him), snatching his name tag from his person.”

After that, she walked away from the restaurant with the name tag, though the employee followed her to the front desk to retrieve it, investigators noted.

During the altercation, Varley also broke four glasses, dropping them to the floor, the affidavit reveals. They were valued at around $20 in total.

Varley was ultimately arrested and now faces charges of battery, robbery by sudden snatching, and criminal mischief.
