NEW YORK CITY – A New York baby formula company is pulling all of its products off shelves after three infants were hospitalized with botulism in three different states.
Nara Organics, based in New York, NY, announced a voluntary recall of all lots of Nara Organics Powdered Infant Formula currently on the market due to the potential risk of Clostridium botulinum contamination.
What triggered the recall
The FDA and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention contacted Nara Organics late Friday, June 12, 2026, and provided information about three cases of infant botulism in babies who the CDC reported had consumed Nara formula. The three infants were hospitalized and treated with BabyBIG — Botulism Immune Globulin Intravenous — in California, Washington, and Pennsylvania. No deaths have been reported.
The three specific product lots those infants were exposed to are: 709125280E14F2, 709125288E14F2, and 708125174E14F2.
As of the recall announcement, no Nara infant formula has tested positive for C. botulinum. The company said it is voluntarily recalling all products currently on the market out of an abundance of caution.

Signs of infant botulism
Infant botulism is a rare but potentially fatal illness. It occurs when Clostridium botulinum spores are ingested and colonize the intestinal tract, producing toxins in an infant’s immature gut.
Parents should watch for these symptoms:
- Constipation
- Poor feeding
- Drooping eyelids
- Sluggish pupils
- Low muscle tone
- Difficulty sucking or swallowing
- Weak or altered cry
- Generalized weakness
- Respiratory difficulty or arrest
If your baby has consumed Nara formula and is showing any of these symptoms, contact a healthcare provider immediately.
