Suspect hospitalized after deputy-involved shooting, sheriff’s office says

Shooting happened just after 2 a.m. Wednesday

OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. – The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office says a man was hospitalized after a deputy-involved shooting early Wednesday morning.

Deputies say it happened just after 2 a.m. in the area of Marcos Circle after they responded to a call about a family member having a mental health crisis.

The sheriff’s office says when deputies arrived, there was an altercation with an adult man, and he was shot.

Deputies say he was airlifted to the hospital and was conscious and alert.

The sheriff’s office says no one else was hurt, including the deputy involved.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement also responded to the scene.

The sheriff’s office says there will be a media briefing.
