Motorcycle driver dies after running off road, state troopers say

MARION COUNTY, Fla. – A Marion County man died after investigators say he ran off the road and hit a tree Saturday.

Florida Highway Patrol says the 59-year-old was driving on County Road 35 just north of State Road 326 about 4:30 p.m. when he lost control while trying to make a left turn.

Troopers say he hit a traffic sign and was thrown from the motorcycle.

Troopers say He was taken to a local hospital, where he later died.
