ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis appointed a new member to the Orange County Board of County Commissioners on Friday, according to his office.
In a release, state officials identified the appointee as Michael Crabb, a lieutenant for the Orange County Sheriff’s Office and the owner of The Shirt Shop USA.
“Active in his community, he is the Vice President and a board member of the Florida Safety Council and is a member of the Florida Deputy Sheriff’s Association,” the release reads. “Crabb attended Barry University.”
Crabb is filling in the seat for District 2, which was previously held by former Commissioner Christine Moore.
Moore was elected to that seat in November 2018, representing Apopka, Ocoee, Lockhart, Tangerine, Zellwood, Eatonville, and portions of Pine Hills, College Park and Orlando.
However, she resigned from her board seat earlier this year to run for mayor of Apopka.
