THE VILLAGES, Fla. – A man and woman going through a divorce were found dead Friday in The Villages in an apparent murder-suicide, according to officials.
The Sumter County Sheriff's Office said it conducted a well-being check at a home after friends of the man said they had not heard from him in two days.
Deputies went to a home on Oak Forest Drive and discovered a man and woman dead, the Sheriff's Office said. They were later identified as Thomas and Noel Rich.
According to deputies, Thomas Rich had a gun in his hand and died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest. Noel Rich was shot in the back of the head, said deputies.
No other details were released.
