Johnson, who attended Olympia High School in Orlando, and Reggie Johnson were taken to a hospital with injuries.  The driver, Dreekius Oricko Johnson, was shot and killed, officials said.  None of the shooting victims is related to each other.

"Detectives believe that the Jeep was the intended target, but cannot say if the occupants of the vehicle were specifically targeted," the Orange County Sheriff's Office said in a statement.

Chris Johnson was the front-seat passenger and Reggie Johnson was riding in the back seat, deputies said.

No arrests have been made in the case.  Anyone with information about the shooting is urged to call Crimeline at 800-423-TIPS.

Less than two months ago, Johnson was arrested after two guns were found in his car, according to Orlando police.  He was cited for open carrying of a weapon.

Chris Johnson is currently a free agent.
