The documents are heavily redacted. DOJ officials said there were five categories of information that needed to be kept sealed:
Witness identity
Road map for the investigation
Protecting confidential informants
Exposing the identity of law enforcement
Violating the privacy rights – specifically exposing identities of grand jury members and protecting information that might still be presented to a grand jury
A federal judge ordered the release of the documents because of the high-profile and unprecedented nature of the case.
