GOP congresswoman calls to expel Florida Rep. Cory Mills

Mills represents Seminole, Volusia counties

ORLANDO, Fla. – A South Carolina congresswoman has filed a resolution to expel Central Florida Rep. Cory Mills from Congress.

Rep. Nancy Mace, R-South Carolina, introduced the resolution, accusing Mills, R-New Smyrna Beach, of sexual misconduct, profiting off federal contracts, and of stolen valor.

Mace confirmed the resolution on Tuesday on X.com with a simple post, “Expulsion is the only acceptable outcome for Cory Mills.”

Mills responded, “Call for vote Nancy!”

This is the second time Mace has tried to penalize Mills for those accusations.

In November, Mace introduced a resolution to strip Mills of his committee assignments and censure him. Instead, Congress agreed to open an Ethics Probe into his conduct.

“The swamp has protected Cory Mills for far too long, and we are done letting it slide. We tried to censure him and strip him from his committee assignments. Both parties blocked it, but we are not backing down,”said Mace in a statement.

In the last month, three U.S. House representatives have resigned because of misconduct allegations.

Rep. Eric Swalwell, D-California, and Rep. Tony Gonzales, R-Texas, both resigned last week amid sexual misconduct allegations before they could face expulsion votes.

On Tuesday, Rep. Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick, who is facing federal charges of stealing $5 million in disaster relief funds, resigned before she could be sanctioned by Congress.
