Lake Nona — a neighborhood that calls itself a community of and for the future — organized a sneak peek of a new concept for Central Florida. Boxi Park is an entertainment center made up 14 storage containers repurposed as restaurants, bars, live entertainment space, a dog park, a kids’ play area and beach volleyball courts. In celebration of its upcoming grand opening, Boxi Park is hosting a preview weekend with food, drinks and music.

News 6 first reported the plans for Boxi Park in October as construction crews were laying the groundwork in Lake Nona’s Town Center along Lake Nona and Tavistock Lakes boulevards. Developers said they wanted to create a space for creativity where new concepts could be tested. Jessi Blakley, with Tavistock Development, said businesses will rotate in and out of the space, which will create more dining and entertainment options in the growing Lake Nona area.

The park itself could also change since developers are given the freedom to move the shipping containers as needed. There are three chances to see Boxi Park before it opens.
