Driver killed after pickup leaves road, bursts into flames in Seminole County, troopers say

Crash happened at SR-46 and CR-426

GENEVA, Fla. – A driver is dead after a pickup truck ran off the road, struck a concrete culvert, and caught fire in Seminole County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred around 10:30 p.m. Monday at the intersection of State Road 46 and County Road 426.

According to an FHP report, the driver of a 1987 Dodge W-Series pickup was traveling westbound on State Road 46 when, for unknown reasons, the vehicle veered off the right side of the roadway. The truck struck a concrete culvert, then continued west before hitting a tree and a fence, entering an embankment and catching fire. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

The identity of the driver was not given. The crash remains under investigation.
