BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. – SpaceX on Thursday launched a Spanish satellite communications mission from Florida’s Space Coast.
The SpainSat NG II mission took off during a four-hour window that opened at 9:30 p.m., according to SpaceX’s website.
The launch was originally scheduled for Wednesday.
A Falcon 9 carried the payload to a geosynchronous transfer orbit from Space Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, the website states.
SpaceX says the mission marked the 22nd and final flight for the Falcon 9 first-stage booster supporting it, due to the additional performance required to deliver the payload to orbit. The booster previously launched CRS-26, OneWeb Launch 16, Intelsat IS-40e, SES O3b mPOWER-C, Ovzon-3, Eutelsat 26D, Turksat 6A, Maxar 2, SXM-9 and 12 Starlink missions, according to SpaceX.
