Next SpaceX rocket launch from Florida may trigger sonic booms in The Bahamas

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. SpaceX on Wednesday is preparing to launch 29 Starlink satellites into low-Earth orbit from Florida’s Space Coast.

The Falcon 9 rocket will lift off from Space Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. The launch window is scheduled to be open from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The mission marks the 26th flight for the Falcon 9’s first-stage booster, which has previously supported notable missions, including Crew-5, GPS III Space Vehicle 06, Inmarsat I6-F2, CRS-28, Intelsat G-37, NG-20, TD7 and 18 previous Starlink launches.

After stage separation, the booster is expected to land on the droneship Just Read the Instructions in the Atlantic Ocean near The Bahamas. Residents and visitors in The Bahamas may hear sonic booms during the booster’s landing.
