17-year-old taken to nearby hospital, officers say

SANFORD, Fla. – A teenage boy was injured in a drive-by shooting early Saturday, Sanford police said.
The 17-year-old boy was hit by gunfire twice before 1:55 a.m. when someone drove by a home on 8th Street near Pecan Avenue and shot at him from inside a vehicle, police said.
Officers said the boy was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition.
Police did not immediately provide information about the car or shooter.
