ORLANDO, Fla. – A University of Central Florida student was arrested Sunday after police said he recorded students in a student union bathroom, according to UCF police.
Shaun Anthony Ragasa, 19, is accused of recording another student in the bathroom at UCF’s Student Union on Jan. 18.
A UCF detective identified Ragasa after reviewing video surveillance footage from the UCF Student Union. Ragasa was wearing a Circle K International T-shirt during one of the incidents, according to the arrest affidavit. The group is a UCF community service organization with branches at universities around the world.
One of the victims was urinating and saw a cellphone being held over the stall and believed that the suspect took a photo, according to the report.
The victim told the person in the stall to come out or he would call UCF police. Ragasa started to cry, according to the victim, then came out of the stall. He told the victim that he deleted the picture.
Detectives picked up Ragasa for questioning while he was at a Circle K International meeting and they said they saw him erasing photos and video. The detective confiscated the cellphone to protect evidence, according to the report.
Detectives said they found three videos on Ragasa’s cellphone taken from inside an unidentified restroom. Two videos showed an unidentified victim on the toilet and another video was shot from inside a bedroom, authorities said. None of the subject in the videos appear to know that they were being filmed, according to the report.
UCF detectives arrested Ragasa Sunday on one charge of video voyeurism.
His bond was set at $2,500 during a first court appearance on Tuesday. A judge ordered that he have no contact with any of the victims and that he not be in possession of any cameras, including a cellphone camera.
