Back in the Sunshine State ☀️.

Hi, friends! It’s Brenda, back in your inbox for all the Central Florida Happenings.

I spent a week out west with a few friends, traveling through Utah/Wyoming and exploring the national parks (Zion, Grand Teton, Yellowstone).

It was a great time! I love hiking, so it was nice to be back at it and see some new places! Yellowstone was AMAZING.

But we’re back, which means letting you know what’s going on. Here’s what’s happening!!! ⤵️

Corn, corn, and more corn will be the center of the first-ever Mount Dora Corn Festival this weekend.

That’s right, you read that correctly.

The festival kicks off Friday, with Saturday featuring the big events of live music performed by Shelby Darrall, Will Jones and Mark Wills, fireworks and contests.

It’ll be a fun time for the whole fam! Click here to learn more about parking/tickets and more.

Let’s remember why this weekend is a holiday weekend.

Memorial Day is observed on the last Monday of May, honoring the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military.

Here’s a county-by-county list of remembrance events happening in Central Florida.

Other happenings:

🥳 Party in the Milk District: Milk Mart, a pop-up market with over 200 vendors, will be celebrating its eighth anniversary. Click here to learn more.

🎤 Mark your calendars: The lineup for Country Thunder Florida was released and so was the big country name headlining the event. Click here to check it out and take advantage of the early ticket sales!

‼️ Last weekend: I told you about Orlando International Fringe Theatre Festival in the last newsletter, and this weekend is your last chance to check it out. Setting the Stage newsletter’s writer Brooke Savage interviewed one of the writers whose work is debuting in the festival. Click here to check out that interview and click here for the festival schedule.

🤤 New food hall: Orlando’s Packing District will soon be home to The Great Southern Box Company Food Hall. Take a look at the vendors and when it opens here.

That’s all from me!

I hope everyone has a great weekend, and I’ll catch you all next week.

- Brenda
