New food hall set to open in Orlando’s Packing District

The Great Southern Box Company Food Hall opens May 24

ORLANDO, Fla. – A new food hall is opening in the Packing District called The Great Southern Box Company Food Hall.

Located just off North Orange Blossom Trail, across the street from the Groves at College Park Plaza, the food hall has 11 food vendors, a full bar and a brewery that’s currently under construction.

The building also comes with history.

“There is, and we wanted to honor it. Dr. Phillips is the largest citrus grower in the world back in the ‘20s, ‘30s and ‘40s,” Ken Robinson said.

Robinson, president and CEO of Dr. Phillips Inc, said the vision was to use what was once a manufacturing building used by Dr. Phillips himself and bring it back to life by offering something for all families to enjoy.

“The whole part of the Packing District concept is how do we bring mothers to the Packing District and what’s going to attract them. So, the Publix, the YMCA, the park, and now the food hall, where a mom can come and have five different orders take place,” Robinson said.

Some of the local vendors include A Lo Cubano, Antica Pizza, Braza, Dancing Yeti, Eighty Twenty, Kabab2Go, Kayos Jamaican Grill, Raj Express and Stack’d Brownies.

The food hall is set to open Friday, May 24.
